The context in which development organisations operate is extremely volatile. Funding for development and humanitarian programs is under pressure, while at the same time, there is an aggregated need due to the consequences of conflict, climate change and threats to civil rights. Development organisations need to learn from previous experiences and innovate to adapt to these changing circumstances.

This session is the second session in a series aimed at stimulating learning in programs, as an organisation and in an equitable way, together with partners. In the first session, we looked at how program-specific lessons can be turned in and used as organisational legacy for future programmes. In this second session we are looking into what organisational conditions are needed to make the best use of staff, ensuring that learning enhances impact.

We will explore the different elements of a learning organisation, based on the framework of the Convive Collective. Liliane Fonds will present their experiences of enhancing learning in their organisation. Finally, in break-out groups we will further explore the different elements presented, including:

  • Building a learning culture
  • The role of learning leadership and learning champions
  • Embedding learning into core processes and systems
  • Evidence-based decision making

More information on the programme will follow soon!
