Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall direction of the Executive Director and the direct supervision of the Fundraising and Visibility Officer, the incumbent will support the TFV in researching and drafting grant proposals, letters of intent, donor reports and other materials needed to support TFV’s fundraising and outreach goals.The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Drafting grant proposals and  donor reports; 

  • Tracking and managing current and prospective grant and reporting deadlines; 
  • Coordinating and preparing materials for donor appeals; 
  • Drafting other materials as assigned, such as newsletters, funder updates, drafting stories from the field;
  • Supporting annual report preparation; 
  • Developing outreach materials such as TFV one-pagers/info sheets etc; 
  • Participate in TFV outreach and networking events; 
  • Performing other assignments in support of the TFV Secretariat activities as needed;

Required Qualifications


All Candidates must have an advanced university degree in communications, English, journalism grant writing or a similar qualification.


  • Professional experience in grant writing at a UN organization or well-known nonprofit organization;
  • Ability to interpret documents such as professional reports, publications, and grant guidelines;
  • Knowledge of and experience writing proposals to corporations, foundation and government donors, and an understanding of technical and financial compliance for large grants;

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A high level of proficiency with English grammar and punctuation. French is additionally desirable;
  • Must be able to compile content, write new content, proofread, and edit documents;
  • Demonstrated superior writing, research and organizational skills; 
  • Strong research and analytical skills; 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; 
  • Excellent ability to work well under deadlines; 
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision; 
  • Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft Office;
